Premis was engaged and completed the delivery of multiple environments at Baringa Hospital in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales.
Scope of the project included the refurbishment of an existing operating theatre being converted into an Endovascular Theatre and Control Room. This was also in line with the installation of GE and Stryker equipment. Additionally the hospital’s commercial kitchen was completely refurbished including an extension to the building to incorporate new cold and freezer rooms. A structural steel Plant Deck was also constructed to house required plant and equipment.
The refurbishment necessitated substantial structural alterations to support a suspended concrete floor, existing structural members and roof framing. Air quality and infection control were key elements for the project’s delivery. With extensive penetrations in both the existing floors and ceiling spaces, protecting the adjacent 3 active operating theatres and patient recovery areas required considerable planning and monitoring throughout the works
This complex project was delivered in three stages, this was primarily due to the design restrictions of the space.
It also remained live throughout the duration of the project.
