Premis Solutions is currently delivering an annexe environment to Parliament House in the Brisbane CBD. The project, which commenced in May, is being delivered in stages to allow for building to continue with no disruptions to parliamentary operations.
The site occupies the podium level which is located on the seventh floor of the facility and consists of two major annexes, which feature indoor and outdoor areas. Construction has taken place following the demolition of a golf green, squash court and swimming pool.
Premis has completed the first pavilion, located on the riverside of the building. The pavilion features barbecues, lounge areas and fridge facilities complemented by exposed timber panelling. Glazing and floor-to-ceiling sliding windows protects patrons from the south-east weather, and planter boxes maintained by a reticulated watering system alongside climber vines provide shade and colour to the vicinity.
The fixed seating is comprised of spotted gums, and flooring is a juxtaposition of grass and tiled areas. The area provides the facility with an impressive and functional space to host events, or for relaxation.
Specialist methodology was applied to this project, especially due to its security-sensitive nature. The program accommodates parliamentary sit-in days and aligns with the facility’s live environment. The Premis team appreciates the opportunity to tailor a program for a project with vital and demanding live requirements, and looks forward to completing the final stage of this government project.
