Premis has recently been awarded the design and construct management contract for the development of a dedicated day medical oncology unit and expansion of the rehabilitation gym at Mater Private Hospital Redland.
The hospital has seen significant growth since the oncology service was introduced in 2013. The new nine-chair oncology unit will provide an important service to patients within the local community and fulfil increased demand. The treatment space will be purpose-built to improve the patient’s experience while undergoing cancer-related treatment. The dedicated oncology unit means that patients can be cared for in a specialised facility instead of an inpatient ward, freeing up space for more local patients.
Development works will also include the expansion of Mater Private Hospital Redland’s gym facilities to meet the increased needs of inpatient rehabilitation services. The space will also include dedicated treatment areas and full kitchen facilities to allow patients to regain confidence to carry out everyday task before they go home.
The project commenced in November and is expected to be completed in mid-2019.
