Premis Project: Legal Aid Southport

Due to increased activity in the Southport Courts, Legal Aid Southport experienced rapid expansion in their offices.  This expansion prompted the decision to relocate to new premises in Bay Street.  Premis Solutions recently refurbished the new premises, which are within an ideal proximity to the Southport Courts.

The vision for the fitout was to build a functional workspace that could be enjoyed by both staff and clients, and include modern facilities that provide for current and future demands.  The fitout included front-of-house and reception facilities, interview rooms, dual access client rooms, as well as amenities and a staff area. The design of the reception and adjacent interview rooms were particularly important as the area experiences a very high volume of clients.  The new counter provides ease of access, accommodates several clients at a time and maintains sound levels of security. The interview rooms are utilised to conduct client interviews, legal advice sessions and family law conferences.

Due to the sensitive nature of Legal Aid’s operations, security is a critical element of the design and Premis delivered the refurbishment with these considerations in mind, as well as completing the project within an established timeframe to coincide with the expiration of the previous lease tenancy. Noise and contractor management were integral in the successful completion of the project due to the commercial nature of the building and Landlords remained on site throughout the project.

Legal Aid Southport’s new environment is modern, functional and spacious. Premis Solutions appreciates the opportunity to further our experience in delivering legal projects.   View our government projects.
