Premis Project: Complex Build For Qld Art Gallery Mezzanine

Premis Solutions was recently engaged to build a fully suspended mezzanine level for storage of artwork and artefacts on Level 5 of the Queensland Art Gallery in Southbank, Brisbane.

The build is unique and challenging involving the construction of a suspended steel truss mezzanine supported only by the surrounding walls.  This type of design required that the floor space be redesigned to accommodate the specialised art racking.

This project is being delivered across a staged program as the steel structures need to be built in sections.  Premis will soon begin installing the specialised art racking to accommodate the artwork and artefacts which will be delivered in the final stage of the project.

We look forward to the completion of what promises to be a unique and functional space integral to the Queensland Art Gallery’s operations.
