Premis collaborates well with fellow contractors on complex Caltex office fitout
Location: 3 Sandpiper Ave, Fisherman’s Island.
Client: Architectus (Angela Lamb).
Size: 900m²
Timing: January 2008
Key achievement: Working collaboratively with another contractor. Maintaining a high standard of communication and ensuring the smooth dovetailing of all efforts.
Project Overview
Premis was commissioned by Architectus to carry out the fitout of a new office building, set to house 80 Caltex staff members, at the Port Central complex in the Port of Brisbane.
“Caltex had secured another contractor to handle the works of the base building, while Premis was responsible for the interior office fitout. This included adding new walls and doors, ordering furniture and screens, and coordinating new bathrooms and showers,” explained Angela Lamb, who shared the role of project architect with Kerrie Campbell.
What made this job especially challenging was the need for both contracting companies to collaborate and work cohesively together. Premis excelled in their ability to dovetail their efforts with those of the other team. This ensured a smooth workflow throughout the project.
Premis’s commitment to providing the best possible solution for the client meant that they took ownership of the details and any site issues that arose. They remained upbeat and positive throughout the entire project — even when challenges arose and work had to continue over the Christmas break.
